Why I Created a Sanctuary for the Overstimulated Woman

Like many women entering midlife, I faced broken sleep, constant tiredness, and waves of anxiety. At first, I thought it was just stress but I came to realize it was ADHD made sharper by falling estrogen. My nervous system was always “on,” and rest felt impossible.

That’s when I discovered the calming power of weighted blankets. Occupational therapists call it deep pressure stimulation — gentle, steady weight that helps the body feel safe, reduces cortisol, and encourages serotonin and melatonin, the hormones that help us feel calm and sleep deeply.

The benefits were undeniable. Weighted blankets don’t just help with sleep — they also support people managing:

Anxiety and restless thoughts

ADHD and sensory sensitivities

Autism Spectrum Disorder

PTSD and trauma-related stress

Restless Leg Syndrome and nighttime fidgeting

High stress, overwhelm, or low mood

Overheating at night (with breathable design)

For me, it was the first time in years I felt calm and safe enough to rest. And I knew I wasn’t alone, so many women in midlife carry these struggles quietly.

I created Oliviada to answer that need. Our weighted blankets and calming tools are designed for women navigating neurodivergence, perimenopause, and other health challenges that disrupt sleep — alongside the everyday demands of modern life.

We believe in three things:
🌿 Mission – to support the nervous system and give women practical, evidence-based tools for rest.
🌿 Care – to create products that meet women where they are: tired, anxious, and ready for relief.
🌿 Taste – to design with calm chic elegance, so rest feels not just functional, but beautiful.

Oliviada helps women move beyond constant fatigue and the pressure to keep pushing through, so they can live with joy, calm, and radiant energy. Because feeling safe is the foundation of an abundant life.
